About Wikimedia Commons

Join one of the largest photo and multimedia communities in the world with the Wikimedia Commons app. Wikimedia Commons is not only the image repository for Wikipedia, but also an independent project aimed at documenting the world through photos, videos, and recordings.

The app allows contributors from around the world to upload and share media directly from their smartphones. Created and maintained by Wikimedia community volunteers, this open-source app empowers users to participate in building a global repository of free-use media. While the Wikimedia Foundation hosts the Commons project and supports the app, the Foundation itself does not maintain the app.
